After reading this, I need a makeover! Gosh, bermotivasi la pulak pagi Jumaat ni.

11 mistakes women make in middle age By Ashley Macha

Let’s not kid ourselves. Getting older is a drag, and middle age is particularly fraught with tension. Part of the problem is that aging often requires change, but most women don’t want to move to a frumpy town called Middle Age, where sensible shoes and boring clothes are de rigueur. Here are the 11 most common mistakes aging women make—and how to avoid them.

1 Not realizing you need to change
The biggest mistake women make is not doing anything at all. Hair, makeup, and clothing that made you look fantastic in your younger years, often won’t cut it as you grow older. If you want to age gracefully, you’ll need to make some changes.

2 Not spending enough on your clothes
It’s a challenge to find flattering clothes at any age, but it’s even harder in middle age. You’ll probably need to fork over more dough for body-squeezing swimsuits and well-fitted business clothes that do the trick.

3 Comparing yourself to you in your 20s
Have your kids ever asked, “Who’s that pretty lady in your photo album?” You’re not alone. Few people look as attractive in middle age as they did in their younger years. So take a walk down memory lane if you must, but don’t get depressed if you run into your younger self.  The goal is to look as good as you can—and be as healthy as you can—not recreate the body and face you had decades ago.

4 Skipping exercise
Tempted to stop working out as you get older? (Or use it as another excuse not to start?) Sorry, that won’t cut it. You’ll have to exercise despite the aches and pains of middle age—the bum knee, tricky back, or it-just-makes-me-feel-like-hell feeling. Exercising can actually relieve pain, and stave off health problems in coming years, such as creeping weight gain, diabetes, heart disease, or dementia.

5 Not getting enough sleep
While it may be tempting to shortchange sleep, particularly if you’re juggling parent- and child-care duties, this may be one more thing you need to change. Fewer hours of sleep are more likely to show up on your face, true. But it’s also linked to a greater risk of diabetes and other health problems, which become even more important as you age.

6 Ignoring your teeth
You may be focusing on your wrinkles or thinning hair, but don’t forget to smile at yourself in the mirror. One thing that can make you appear older is yellowing teeth, but it is about more than just looks. Dental health is closely linked with overall health, and gum disease—which gets more common as you age—has been associated with a higher risk of heart problems. So don’t skip those visits to the dentist.

7 Overdoing anti-aging efforts
This is a common mistake made by celebrities and real women alike. No one likes crow’s-feet or laugh lines, but a frozen Botox face or scary lip plumping isn’t a great look either. The right skin products (such as those containing retinol) can help diminish fine lines and wrinkles. If you’re not happy with the result, then explore other alternatives—but don’t aim to look like a teen again. “No wrinkles can be unrealistic and unnatural,” says Grufferman.

8 Thinking there are hair “rules”
The fact is that your hair will probably get more gray and thin as you age, and the texture may get coarser as well. Choose a cut and color that’s flattering, keeping in mind that it probably won’t be the cut and color that worked for you in your 20s and 30s.

9 Using the wrong makeup
The makeup colors and brands you’ve been wearing for years probably don’t reflect what’s best for your skin anymore. For a more natural look, Grufferman suggests using a magnifying mirror and having a “lighter touch” when applying. Keep your cosmetic bag current—replace foundations, powders, and concealers every 6 months to a year, and steer clear of dated makeup styles too.

10 Settling for a boring sex life
Our culture tends to sell the message that young equals sexy, but you don’t have to buy into it. You should have the confidence and freedom to dress and feel as sexy as you want to, and explore your sexual needs as well

11 Wearing the wrong bra
It’s inevitable—gravity has an impact on our bodies. But while you might be saggy where you were once perky, that doesn’t mean you have to stay that way. The right underwear can help lift and slim your body, so re-evaluate your undergarments and invest in some new pieces.

8 Reasons Carbs Help You Lose Weight

Eating a diet packed with the right kind of carbs is the little-known secret to getting and staying slim for life.  Hundreds of studies conducted at respected universities and research centers have shown Resistant Starch—such as grains, beans, and legumes—helps you eat less, burn more calories, feel more energized and less stressed, and lower cholesterol.
Sound too good to be true? Here are eight evidence-based reasons you must get carbs back in your life if you are ever to achieve that coveted sleek, slim look.

1. Eating carbs makes you thin for life
A recent multi-center study found that the slimmest people also ate the most carbs, and the chubbiest ate the least. The researchers concluded that your odds of getting and staying slim are best when carbs make up to 64% of your total daily caloric intake, or 361 grams. That's the equivalent of several stuffed baked potatoes (a food we bet you've been afraid to eat for decades). Most low-carb diets limit you to fewer than 30% of total calories from carbs and sometimes contain as few as 30 grams of carbohydrates a day.

2. Carbs fill you up
Many carb-filled foods act as powerful appetite suppressants. They're even more filling than protein or fat. These special carbs fill you up because they are digested more slowly than other types of foods, triggering a sensation of fullness in both your brain and your belly. Consuming Resistant Starch in one meal caused study participants to consume 10% fewer calories (roughly 150 to 200 calories for the average woman) during the next day, because they felt less hungry.

3. Carbs curb your hunger
When dieters are taken off a low-carb diet and shifted them to an approach that includes generous amounts of fiber and Resistant Starch foods, something wonderful happens: Within two days, the dieters' cravings go away. The fiber and Resistant Starch fills them up and satisfies them while allowing them to eat the foods they crave. These good-news carbs also raise levels of satiety hormones that tell the brain to flip a switch that stifles hunger and turns up metabolism.

4. Carbs control blood sugar and diabetes
The right mix of carbs is the best way to control blood sugar and keep diabetes at bay. In one study participants who consumed a diet rich in high Resistant Starch foods were able to lower their post-meal blood sugar and insulin response by up to 38%. Eat the carbs you want, but you need to combine them so that they don't cause a spike in your blood sugar. Instead of eating white rice, switch to brown and combine it with beans, corn, or other high Resistant Starch foods that keep your blood sugar more balanced than low-carb diets.

5. Carbs speed up metabolism
Carbs high in Resistant Starch speed up your metabolism and your body's other natural fat burners. As Resistant Starch moves though your digestive system, it releases fatty acids that encourage fat burning, especially in your belly. These fatty acids help preserve muscle mass—and that stokes your metabolism, helping you lose weight faster. Researchers set out to fatten up two groups of rats, feeding one group food that was low in Resistant Starch.

6. Carbs blast belly fat
Carbs help you lose your belly fat faster than other foods, even when the same number of calories are consumed.  Diet rich in Resistant Starch, increase  the activity of fat-burning enzymes and decreased the activity of fat-storing enzymes. This means that the belly-fat cells were less likely to soak up and store calories as fat.

7. Carbs keep you satisfied
Carbs keep you satisfied longer than other foods. Here's why: Your brain acts like a computerized fuel gauge that directs you to fill up whenever it notices that its gas tank (stomach) is empty. Foods high in Resistant Starch flip on every single fullness trigger in the body. They release fullness hormones in the intestine and make your cells more sensitive to insulin. By increasing your consumption of filling foods and releasing satiety hormones, you'll minimize your hunger and cravings.

8. Carbs make you feel good about you!
"Dieters feel so empowered once they lose weight on carbs. For the first time, they are able to lose weight by eating in a balanced manner, without cutting out entire food groups," says Sari Greaves, a registered dietitian and spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association.

 Puteri ku

by Ahmad Norain on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 7:28am
Untuk Puteriku Aina Mawwar di hari kelahiran mu 19 Jan

puteriku
ku tiupkan ayat suci diubunmu
ku tiupkan seruan solat ditelingamu
agar mekar kelopakmu sesegar embun pagi

puteriku
pesanku buatmu tentang ilmu
yang mencampak kekufuran
bila hidayah mendatang
jangan pinta petua dari sijahil
kerana fatwanya menyesatkan

ketika salahmu, ku tegur dengan manja
ketika betulmu, ku mensyukuri kepintaranmu
jangan pencilkan kesedihan dengan esakkan sayu
usah salahkan tuhan tika lara dan duka
ujian itu nilai sebuah kesabaran

puteriku
selimutkanlah dirimu  setebal solehahmu
merafaq nas hakiki
untuk mengangkat mu
sebagai bidadari firdausi
Selamat menyambut hari kelahiran buat puteriku

Sudah dua minggu berlalu.
Tiada catitan sendiri.
Tapi masih menjenguk disini.

Hati masih berkira-kira
mencongak-congak
pergi?  tak pergi?  pergi?  tak pergi?
Tahun lalu dah kata,
takpa bagi peluang abang merasi kehebatan cinta Nya
tapi sekarang nak ikut pulak
anak-anak?

Tak apalah
masa masih ada
jika ada jemputan Nya
aku ikut.
anak-anak ditinggalkan di tanganNya
yang pasti...
Aku sangat rindu padamu

Indahnya...

Perhubunganku - by beloved hubby

Dengan   بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Ku basuh tangan dalam aliran air mutlak
Melafaz niat membasuh muka
Merentangi neraka panas membara
Dalam qiam ku bulatkan hati
Memusatkan minda hanya pada-Nya
Diriku ini adalah tiada
Merasa nikmat menghadap yang ESA
Kepada ALLAH
Tempat ku berserah merayu kala hatiku gundah
Yang ku terima dengan redha qada dan qadar-Nya
Dengan rendah hati seorang hamba
Dalam rukuk dan sujud
Ku letakkan diri sekerdil mungkin
Sambil mulut basah dengan pujian
Berteleku antara dua sujud
Khusyu’ mengharap ampunan dan belas
Dari Allah yang maha penyayang
Bersimpuhku dalam Tahiyyat
Kupacakkan ibu jari kakiku,
Dan telunjuk mengiyakan Syahadah
Merendahkan diri dalam lafaz pujian
Memuliakan Junjungan s.a.w.
Kusempurnakan afaal solat dengan dua salam
Tenggelam dalam lafaz istighfar
Memohon ampun pada-Nya
atas dosa dan khilaf seorang hamba
Yang hina lagi tak sempurna
Namun masih tegar mengimpikan syurga di sana

Maka, ku tadah dua tangan
Memohon doa dengan sesungguhnya
Merayu dan mendayu
Penyesalan yang bersatu dalam rasa dan minda
Seiring derai airmata
Ya Allah,
Ku pohon ampun MU Ya Rabbi
Atas dosa dan kekurangan diri
aku hamba yang menzalimi diri
ujilah aku mengikut mampu diri

Dan Kau tetapkan kalbuku yang Kau miliki
Agar teguh dengan petunjuk yang Kau beri
Rahmatilah hidupku, ibubapaku , keluargaku ,guruku dan jemaahku
Dalam pelukan kasih sayang-Mu

Lindungi kami dari panas neraka yang membara
Letak kan kami disi MU
Kerana, Kami hanya ingin hidup dan mati
Di dalam pelukan agama
Yang Kau redha...
